Pilots4U Workshop: Scale me up, Scotty
April 18 @ 10:00 - 17:00 CEST
How open innovation and intellectual property protection works when scaling up bio-based processes in an open access facility.
Pilots4U aims to set up one very visible and easily accessible network of open access pilot and multipurpose demonstration infrastructures for the bioeconomy*. The background and mission of the open access facilities included in the network is quite divers (technology centre, private company, university…), hence various cooperation models with respect to innovation approach and intellectual property rights exist.
This workshop will present and discuss different open access cooperation models and highlight common agreements regarding Intellectual property rights. The workshop intends to inform (and discuss with) pilot infrastructure owners and users on how open access works in practice.
*The following technologies are considered as relevant within the scope of this network: algal cultivation, anaerobic digestion, chemical conversion, fractionation, industrial biotechnology, material technologies, nutrient recovery, pulping, purification, thermal conversion.
- Representatives of open access pilot infrastructure
- Representatives of pilot infrastructure that consider giving open access in the future
- Users and potential users of open access pilot infrastructures
