Provivi™, a California-based biotech company developing sustainable technologies for natural pest control, successfully scaled up its innovative bio-pheromone production at the Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant in Ghent (Belgium).
Meet our Business Development Team at RAFT 2017.
ERDF Flanders and Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant (BBEPP) signed an agreement for an investment of €9,36 million within the framework of the IMPACT project.
Opbouw van nieuwe demonstratie apparatuur – Building new demonstration equipment
DuPont Industrial Biosciences has been awarded a grant from the European Commission to demonstrate high-efficiency enzyme production to increase biogas yields as part of the DEMETER project, funded from the Bio Based Industries Joint Undertaking under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation program.
Demeter: Demonstrating more efficient enzyme production to increase biogas yields.
DEMETER will increase the yield of the fermentation process at an industrial scale as well as the down-stream processing of a C1-based biogas enzyme, reducing the cost of the end product and making the enzyme available for wide-spread application in biogas production throughout Europe.
(AMES, USA, 31.10.2016) REG Life Sciences, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Renewable Energy Group has delivered its first commercial product, a specialty fatty acid. REG developed, produced and delivered approximately one metric ton of the renewable, multi-functional chemical to Aroma Chemical Services International (ACS), a leading specialty manufacturer and supplier of flavor and fragrance […]
The CARBOSURF project aims to develop new biobased processes as well as products and solves bottlenecks in the fermentative production of biobased biosurfactants and specialty carbohydrates. Specifically, it targets different glycolipid biosurfactants with a wide range of application fields and specialty carbohydrates, i.e. complex Human Milk Oligosaccharides that find applications as neutraceutical, pharmaceutical and cosmetic ingredients. The project is coordinated by Prof. Soetaert from Ghent University (Belgium).
Europe, Flanders and the Province of East-Flanders invest €1,27 million in new equipment for Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant. These funds were used to purchase and install three new bioreactors with auxiliary equipment and software: two with a volume of 1.500L and one with a volume of 15.000L. This investment enables BBEPP to provide services to even more companies and it will have a larger capacity for producing industrially relevant quantities of innovative biobased products. This is an important tool for companies that wish to test the production of larger batches to prepare market introduction before investing in a full scale production line. Companies collaborating with BBEPP for process validation and scale-up can substantially reduce costs, risks and development time and will reinforce the chance to successful market entry.
