Workshop: High–Level Lunch debate on “Future research infrastructure for European leadership in circular forest bioeconomy”

The European Research Infrastructure for Circular Forest Bioeconomy (ERIFORE) is pleased to invite you to the 9th EIS High – Level Lunch debate on “Future research infrastructure for European leadership in circular forest bioeconomy”. The event, co-hosted by Sirpa Pietikainen MEP and Henna Virkkunen MEP, will take place on Wednesday, 29 November, in the Members’ Salon of the European Parliament from 12:30 to 14:30. The event is organized together with Knowledge4Innovation.

The launch of Pilots4U heralds a boost for the bioeconomy in Europe

Pilots4U is a European project funded by the Bio Based Industries Joint Undertaking under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. The purposes of the project is to map open access pilot and demo-infrastructures across Europe, to help companies and research institutions operating in the bioeconomy gain easier access to testing facilities to bring their ideas from development to market.

SmartPilots, an INTERREG Europe project co-funded by the European Fund for Regional Development (ERDF), brings together six leading European Shared Pilot Facilities (SPF) specialized in the Key Enabling Technology ‘Industrial Biotechnology’ and bioeconomy, with the aim to discuss and share best funding and operating practices and improve policies in support of such facilities. Enhanced support for Shared Pilot Facilities should substantially improve Europe’s sustainable innovation capacity and is a crucial element in dealing with societal challenges such as developing a sustainable, innovative and knowledge-based economy in Europe, creating jobs and meeting climate targets.
