From 11th to 13th March 2024, during Belgium’s presidency of the Council of the EU, three departments of the Flemish government have joined forces to organise an international conference on the transition towards sustainable food systems. Many facets of food policy and the transition to sustainable food systems will be addressed through workshops, lectures and site visits. Research and Innovation flows as a common thread throughout the conference.

For three days, international and national stakeholders will have a wide range of food issues on their plate. The aim is to create synergies between science, policy and practice. Scientists, policy-makers, civil society and industry will participate and co-organise, more than 20 thematic sessions!

The ProteInn Club and ShapingBio will organise an interactive session on Microbial Proteins. This session, hosted by Stef Denayer (our Stakeholder Relations Manager) will take place on 11 March at 14h30. Muriel Dewilde, Business Development Manager at Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant, gives a talk on “Building value chains on microbial proteins: Opportunities and challenges” in this session.
