The European Commission is carrying out a study on biomass fermentation and precision fermentation for feed and feed applications, focusing on their potential implications for agriculture, farmers and rural areas in the European Union over the medium to long term (2030-2050).
As part of this work, the European Commission is organising a cycle of three foresight workshops. Based on expertise, Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant, represented by Stef Denayer, will take part in these meetings.
The workshops are designed as a collective reflection exercise: rather than assessing the technologies or collecting formal stakeholder positions, they will explore how different future developments could shape agri-food systems, value chains and rural territories. The workshops build progressively on each other: the first workshop (in-person, Brussels) will identify key drivers and uncertainties to co-create possible future scenarios, the second workshop (hybrid) will investigate in future challenges and opportunities, and the third workshop (hybrid) will reflect on implications and policy considerations.
We are very happy to be able to contribute to the discussions and are looking forward to share our knowledge.
