We successfully set up our mobilized CCU pilot installation at the site of Arcelor Mittal in Ghent, where it will be connected to the blast furnace gas piping. This CO2 -containing gas will be used as the raw material for our gas fermentation process.

In a process called ‘gas fermentation,’ our microbes consume and convert CO2, avoiding its release into our atmosphere, while simultaneously making sustainable bioproducts. Using industrial CO2 emissions for biomanufacturing made possible!

Design and construction was realized by Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant and MTSA Technopower with support of the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme in the framework of BIOCON-CO2.
