Harnessing pYrolysis & Biotechnology to Recycle mIxed plastic waste to Dicarboxylic acids
Development of a hybrid process consisting of pyrolysis, biological funnelling, fermentation, and innovative product recovery to convert mixed plastic waste into high-value building blocks.
ACTIVITIES of the Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant
BBEPP is responsible for the development of:
- an advanced biphasic fermentation technology to produce dicarboxylic acids from MPW-derived olefin feedstocks.
- innovative in situ product recovery strategies to boost productivity and allow maximal resource recycling.
